Diversity Family Day Picnic is a brand new event this year designed to allow us to get together with others in an off-site, informal, and fun social gathering, while at the same time promote unity amongst our diversity. This is an informal bring-your-own picnic* setting, but we will light up the on-site grilles for those bringing meat to cook. There will be a jumping castle provided by Kidz Jump and we'll have other sporting equipment on hand for other activities. The highlight activity of the day will be our Diversity Games portion in which all families/individuals will have a chance to play games that are typical of other cultures. For example "Bid Whiz" is a big hit among the African American culture but few others know how to play let alone have heard of this card game. All will be encouraged to learn a game from a culture other than their own. Kids are welcome to bring and parade their halloween costumes for us too! Just getting together with others and their families, it's bound to be lots of fun!!!
Feel free to contact Quintus Schulzke (x5798 or quintus@us.ibm.com) with any questions.

NOTE: While this is being organized by and intended for IBMers and their families and friends (all are welcome), this is a non-IBM sponsored voluntary participation event.

* Please bring your own food, beverages, and/or meats/veggies for grilling. You may also wish to bring shade, an outdoor blanket, chairs, or any other items to make your outing comfortable since ramada space will be limited. A beer permit has been secured, but note that standard behavioral guidelines (including no glass containers) and park regulations apply. We are also responsible to ensure that no one under age is consuming alcohol. Thank you.

A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.
